About the area

The Ostrea Lake is a half fresh, half salt water lake and is connected to the Musquodoboit Harbour Ocean Inlet (open ocean). It freezes in the winter and is much warmer in the summer and is pleasant for swimming. Ostrea Lake is separated  from the open ocean by a natural stone dam, so you can hear, smell and see the ocean, but you have the advantages of a lake as well. On the other side of the dam is about half a kilometer of sandy beach, which can be reached by one of the deeded right of ways.
All the properties are connected to the new built government road with fully installed power lines, this road is plowed and maintained by the Province of Nova Scotia.
